Lindsey's Story

Breast cancer

Lindsey Gardner was 37 years old when she was diagnosed with breast cancer. With surgery and radiation in her future, she knew physical therapy would help her through the treatment process, so her doctors recommended our ReVital Cancer Rehabilitation program.

Lindsey worked with Physical Therapist and ReVital Program Director Sharon Noll. Despite complications with Lindsey's lumpectomy, Sharon helped her return to her active day-to-day life. "I wanted to empower her to be able to take her own health back into her hands," Sharon said.

"I was very afraid that getting a diagnosis at such a young age was going to impact me for the rest of my life," Lindsey said. "So my advice to anyone going through any kind of cancer treatment, but specifically breast cancer treatment, would be to advocate [for] yourself to get into some kind of cancer rehabilitation program. Cancer doesn't have to define you, and this program has helped me realize that."
